I am the Republic of France--once empire, once kingdom, and then other things. As you are one of England's, it's understandable that you not know me.

[France makes an attempt at his flourish hand wave, but it comes out choppier, more like he's trying to drive a point home than to make it seem dismissable.]

No, no, Napoleon was mine. He was my boss for a time, but, more simply, he was mine.

[He stops himself, taking a deep breath to try and regain some of his rapidly degrading composure. He manages to cobble together a semblance of logic to hopefully start to put the situation into perspective.]
